French Foreign Ministry: Paris is ready to consider strengthening measures against Minsk Polish-Belarusian border. This was stated by a representative of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), TASS reports.
“We are in solidarity with Poland, which is faced with the problem of migration flows artificially created by Minsk,” the French department said. The Foreign Ministry of the Fifth Republic accused Belarus of feeding migration traffic to destabilize the European Union (EU).
The ministry noted that the French side is seeking a coordinated way to protect external borders. Paris indicated its readiness to toughen measures against the Belarusian regime, citizens and institutions involved in facilitating illegal migration.
Earlier it became known that the European Union will tighten the visa regime with Belarus due to the migration crisis on the border with Poland. We are talking about the suspension of the simplified regime agreement, which was in force earlier. At the same time, the decision of the European authorities will affect only the officials of the republic and will not affect the rest of the citizens.
On November 8, a group of illegal migrants from the Middle East gathered at the Belarusian-Polish border and tried to overcome the border obstacles. According to the Polish government, the number of refugees reached 3,000-4,000 people. Warsaw also noted that the camp of illegal immigrants is guarded by Belarusian security forces.
The migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the EU countries began after Lukashenka threatened to weaken control over the flow of refugees and drug trafficking. This happened against the backdrop of yet another aggravation of relations between Minsk and the West.
