Earlier, the United States demanded to ban real weapons on film sets. This initiative was supported by 214 representatives of Hollywood cinema, who believe that all types of real firearms during the production process should be banned. The authors of the open letter stressed that they no longer intend to endanger themselves and other members of the team when props or visual effects can be used instead of real weapons.

On October 22, it became known that during the shooting of one of the scenes of the western “ Rust. ”Alec Baldwin fired a pistol that was supposed to be loaded with blanks. As a result of the shooting incident, cameraman Galina Hutchkins was killed and director Joel Sousa was injured.
