Rosgvardia: Lieutenant Colonel Zakharov turned out to be killed during a special operation in St. Petersburg
Police Lieutenant Colonel Evgeny Zakharov was killed in St. Petersburg during a special operation to detain swindlers. The identity of the security officer was revealed to Lente.ru by the official representative of the Russian Guard Valery Gribakin.
The 48-year-old SOBR fighter has served in law enforcement agencies since 2003. He was awarded the Suvorov Medal and the Medal “For Excellence in the Protection of Public Order.” an award for courage.
On the morning of November 9, a special operation took place on the Pulkovskoye highway in the Pushkin district of the city with the participation of employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Guard. They detained suspects in telephone fraud. One of the intruders was driving a Fiat Ducato – he knocked down and ran over a SOBR fighter who blocked his path. Evgeny Zakharov died on the spot from his wounds.
An Intercept plan was introduced in the city. Less than an hour later, the driver was detained. The police blocked his car at a gas station in Murino, Vsevolozhsky District, Leningrad Region.
