President of Azerbaijan Aliyev: Armenia will forever live with the stigma of a defeated people
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev predicted Armenia's life with the stigma of a defeated state. This is reported by Vesti.az.
Aliyev addressed the servicemen in the city of Shusha, which came under the control of Baku a year ago during the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh. The head of state said that “the enemy is becoming even more impudent, making unacceptable steps and statements in order to touch the feelings of the Azerbaijani people.” He recalled that before the conflict, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called Karabakh Armenia, and the inauguration of the newly elected president of the unrecognized republic took place in Shusha. According to Aliyev, all this was an insult to Azerbaijanis.
“How much did we have to endure? Someone should have taught them a lesson or not? In your person, thousands, tens of thousands of Azerbaijani youths, soldiers, officers showed the enemy his place, put the enemy in a position from which he could never get out. He will live forever with the stigma of the defeated people and state, “Aliyev said.
On September 27, 2020, battles began between Azerbaijan and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic supported by Armenia. The parties accused each other of provocation. The ceasefire was reached on November 9 with the mediation of Moscow. Baku regained control of part of the territories lost in the early 1990s.
