The German Ministry of Health answered the question of recognition Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” and said that they could not provide a mechanism for the recognition of the drug through booster immunization with a vaccine recognized in the territory of the European Union (EU). This was reported by RIA Novosti.

A representative of the German Ministry of Health at a briefing said that such a mechanism had not yet been considered.

Earlier, the German Embassy, ​​when asked about the recognition of the Sputnik V vaccine, said that it is necessary to complete the procedure for the equivalence of the Russian drug with vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

At the moment, Sputnik V is registered in 70 countries, with a total population of about four billion people. The drug is manufactured by more than 20 companies in 14 countries around the world. In Russia, the vaccine efficiency of the Gamaleya Center was 97.6 percent. The drug was 83.1 percent effective against the delta strain.
