On November 6, it became known that Kuzmina would not be allowed until the election of a new head of the FIG technical committee. The decision was made at a meeting of the disciplinary commission of the organization.
Viner-Usmanova withdrew the candidacy of the Russian woman from the elections in September. The head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics emphasized that Kuzmina did something nasty at the Tokyo Olympics. Israeli Lina Ashram won the individual all-around Games. She bypassed the Russian woman Dina Averina. The result caused a wide public outcry in Russia, the judges of the competition were accused of bias.
