Alvarez knocked out his opponent in the 11th round and became the first undisputed world champion in super middleweight history. He defended the titles of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt belonging to Plant in the weight category up to 76.2 kg. p>
In May of this year, the Mexican beat Briton Billy Joe Saunders by TKO in the eighth round. Then he defended the WBC, WBA Super titles and won the WBO title.
Alvarez is currently the best boxer in the world. He tops the rating of the statistical portal Boxrec and is also considered the best according to the edition of The Athletic. The Mexican now has 57 victories with a single defeat. Also, two fights with his participation ended in a draw.
