Former vocalist of British reggae band UB40 Terence Wilson dies at age 64 
Co-founder of British reggae band UB40, former vocalist collective Terence Wilson died on Saturday, November 6, according to Twitter account UB40.
Wilson passed away at the age of 64. It is noted that he passed away after a “short illness.” The exact cause of the musician's death has not been disclosed.
“Tonight we learned the sad news that former UB40 member Terence Wilson, better known as Astro, has passed away after a short illness. We offer our sincere condolences to his family, ”the message says.
The UB40 Group was founded in 1979 in Birmingham. In addition to Astro, its origins were Brian Travers Jimmy Brown, Erm Falconer and Ali Campbell. The band was named after the registration form for receiving unemployment benefits – Unemployment Benefit, Form 40. In 2006, UB40 was nominated for a Grammy in the reggae category.
The group's songs were included in the British music charts more than 50 times. The most famous works of the band are cover versions of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love and Neil Diamond's Red Red Wine. In 2013, Wilson left the band and joined Ali Campbell & Astro.
On August 25, UB40 founder and saxophonist Brian Travers died. He was 62 years old. The musician fought cancer for a long time, and in 2019 he underwent several operations to remove brain tumors.
