Supplies of additional volumes of the domestic vaccine Sputnik Light to the regions Russia will start on November 8. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health of the country, Mikhail Murashko, TASS reports.
The Minister noted that the authorities see a high demand for the drug.
Earlier it was reported that several Russian regions faced the deficit of “Sputnik Light” – Voronezh and Vologda regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as Kurgan and St. Petersburg. In the Perm Territory, the drug was banned from using for primary vaccination – it will be available to those who are undergoing revaccination.
Virologists interviewed by Lenta.ru suggested that the shortage of vaccine was caused by lockdown, revaccination and supply disruptions. p>
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the effectiveness of Sputnik Light and Sputnik V is higher than that of many foreign drugs.
