Former UN Secretary-General ban Ki-moon called Russia’s permanent envoy at the organization Vitaly Churkin “star of intelligence” and expressed their condolences for his passing.
“I was shocked and really saddened when I learned of the sudden death of the Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin. He was an outstanding diplomat and star of intelligence”, – quotes RIA news the former Secretary General of the United Nations.
Ban Ki-moon also added that, Vitaly Churkin will be remembered in the history of the United Nations for his diplomatic skills, quick wit and a good sense of humor.
Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin died the day before his birthday. Twenty-first of February he would be 65 years. The Russian diplomat has died in new York at the working post.
