The Ukrainian authorities have introduced emergency measures due to the energy crisis
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced emergency measures in the energy sector of the country at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, February 15. This was stated by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman during the meeting of the Supreme body of Executive power of Ukraine, transfers “112 Ukraine”.
The decision to impose emergency was adopted without objection. According to the head of the Republican Ministry of energy Igor Nasalik imposed measures will remain in Ukraine for more than two months.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister stressed that recorded in the present coal shortage was artificially created by certain people, the list of names which “knows all”. He assured that the government is ready to “strictly deal with any kind of contraband in every corner of Ukraine.” “To fight the Ukrainian society, with people is unacceptable,” — said the Prime Minister.
Groisman also called on activists that are creating obstacles in the supply of coal from the territories of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR), to end the blockade.
According to Groisman, the government is doing all it can to prevent or minimize any outages. He stressed that blackouts will only occur in extreme cases.
On the eve of February 14, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Gennady Zubko said that the government has agreed on measures to deal with the energy crisis associated with the shortage of anthracite coal shipped from the Donbass. Earlier on draft decision on state of emergency in connection with the shortage of anthracite, which is used in Ukrainian power generating stations, said energy Minister Igor Nasalik.
The responsibility for the crisis in the industry the Ukrainian authorities impose on members of the public blockade of trade with the breakaway republics in the Southeast of the country, which continues from the end of December 2016.

The activists blocked the movement of freight trains on the territory of the breakaway republics.
