In Ukraine, gas tariffs for the population could grow by 40%. This can happen in case the IMF demands the abolition of state regulation of prices. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to commercial Director of the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko.
“If there is no extended state regulation of prices for the needs of the population, the so-called special duties, based on current gas prices in the European markets, the hryvnia exchange rate and other factors, we can expect that the price of gas for households will grow by 40%”, – he told.
He also noted that the increase in gas prices for population may be postponed until Oct.
In 2014, Ukraine was the repeated hanging of the cost of gas and tariffs for housing and communal services. In 2013 the cost of 1 thousand cubic meters of gas for the population was 725 USD. By 2016, the price has increased almost 10 times, to 6,879 thousand hryvnia.
