Data on deliveries of Russian military engines in Ukraine can be disinformation aimed at military escalation in the Donbas. On Thursday, February 9, said the head of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Viktor Ozerov, writes “the parliamentary newspaper”.
Thus the Senator commented on reports in the Ukrainian media about the fact that the state enterprise “Ukroboronprom” have bought 20 engines produced in Russia for installation on Ukrainian armored personnel carriers BTR-80. It was noted that the procurement was conducted through the Moldovan intermediary firms.
Ozerov stressed that these messages require scrutiny. “Typically, our contracts in the framework of military-technical cooperation is always negotiated and rigidly prescribed item “without the right supplies to third countries”. I think this is a topic for a separate discussion for our producers, the Commission on military-technical cooperation service on export control”, — said Russian Senator.
At the same time he does not exclude that we are talking about a duck of the Ukrainian authorities who are trying to create the impression that Moscow allegedly playing a double game: “on the one hand, support the militia of Donbass, and on the other trade with the Kiev military equipment and thereby encourages the parties to continue the conflict.”
“If someone “secretly” supplying our engines in Ukraine, it is unlikely that someone from the Ukrainian side would be interested in the fact that it became widely known. And if it is given publicity, even with the strict policy pursued by the official authorities of Ukraine against the Russian, I think, hardly anyone would give such information to the media without any guidance from the leadership of the country”, — he concluded.
Another aggravation of the situation in the Donetsk region began after the attempts of the Ukrainian Armed forces go on the offensive in late January. The fighting that ensued under the plant, were the most violent since August 2015, when Kiev security forces conducted massive attacks on the territory of the self-proclaimed DND.
In February of last year “Ukroboronprom” reported that the Ukrainian army will be taken armored personnel carriers, adapted to the German engines instead of the Russian.
Cooperation between the enterprises of the Russian and Ukrainian military industrial complexes were virtually halted after the outbreak in 2014, the crisis in relations between Moscow and Kiev.
