The United States considered the closure plan of the United Nations (UN), but switched to the tactic of “conquering the majority” in a number of organs of the organization. This statement was made by the official representative of the foreign Ministry of Russia Maria Zakharova. Her words convey the Rambler/news citing RIA Novosti.
“Over the past decade and even a little more we saw different approaches of the US administration — and not Mr. Obama, but in the past — to the UN. There have been attempts, by the way, very bold, including the Obama administration, just close the UN is useless,” – said Zakharov.
According to Zakharov, in the United States “there was an understanding that without such world lighthouse, as the UN […] in international law is impossible.” As noted by the representative of the Department, was as direct statements of some politicians in the United States about the need to close the organization, so various leaks and corruption scandals. International organization of UN was established on 24 October 1945. Initially, the UN Charter was signed by 50 States at the conference in San Francisco. The Charter was developed during the Second world war the allies. Currently the UN includes 193 States.
