“VK Video” summed up the first results of the monetization program for the authors of “VKontakte”
Russia's largest video resource “VK Video” summed up the first results of the monetization program for authors on the social network “VKontakte”. This is reported in a press release of the platform.
So, thanks to the new tool, the total earnings of authors publishing videos in the network's communities – members of the affiliate program – showed an increase of up to 50 percent. At the same time, from the start of the program, the number of published videos has massively doubled.
It is noted that the largest increase in revenue is observed in large communities that actively post original content. The most popular are videos on the topic of humor, entertainment, sports and education.
In addition, it became known that based on feedback, the VKontakte team decided to add monetization of live broadcasts. In addition, by the end of the year, all communities whose content complies with the rules will be able to apply for the monetization of their videos: videos must be meaningful, interesting to the audience, original and of high quality. Advertising, as before, can be displayed in any video – it depends on the advertiser's targeting settings.
“Our task is for everyone to come to the site and start monetizing their video content in a convenient format. In August, we gave access to video monetization to large communities and saw good results. Now we are ready to expand the list of project participants and video monetization formats, “said Alexander Volodin, Development and Communications Director of VK Video.
VK Video is a new video platform of the VK ecosystem that integrates VK Video services and Odnoklassniki, as well as Clips. More than 40 million people use the service every day. More than 250 million videos appear on VKontakte and Odnoklassniki every year: 80 percent of them are UGC content, and 20 percent are professional. It is planned that by the end of this year, 50 thousand units of professional content will be additionally available to VK Video users.
