Sberbank's volunteer community has grown 2.5 times over the year

In 2021, Sberbank has implemented more than 150 social and environmental projects

For the fifth year in a row, Sberbank has joined the celebration of the International Volunteer Day. This year is truly a breakthrough year for the company – the community of corporate volunteers has grown 2.5 times, up to 15 thousand people. Its members do hundreds of good deeds every day, changing the lives of other people for the better.

In 2021, Sberbank implemented more than 150 social and environmental projects. The Social Projects Competition, whose expert council includes professionals from Russian volunteering, helps to identify the best of them. More than a third of Sberbank's projects are devoted to environmental initiatives, this year alone the company's employees have planted more than 400 thousand trees, and environmental lessons for children, actions on conscious consumption have become a daily practice.

In 2021, all significant ESG activities of Sberbank were merged into the Save the Planet program. On the project platform, you can get acquainted with ESG initiatives, learn how to contribute to the conservation of nature, and most importantly be inspired by examples of positive changes for the benefit of the planet.

And this program also supports everyone who is just planning to become a volunteer – in the “Act with us” section of the platform, you can choose the closest direction of assistance, for example, become a volunteer or provide charitable support.

“I am overwhelmed with a sense of pride for our guys. They invest their time, energy, resources to benefit others without expecting anything in return. So compassion, give hope and support can only be true heroes of our time. On behalf of Sberbank, I would like to congratulate all Russian volunteers on the International Volunteer Day and thank them for their good deeds, active citizenship, indifference, responsiveness and dedication. Thanks to you and your efforts, this world is becoming kinder, safer and happier, “said Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank.
