Turkey is ready to discuss with Russia the supply of localization systems for the TF-X fighter

with the creation of the TF-X fighter. The role of Russia in this process was revealed by the head of the Turkish Defense Industry Department Ismail Demir, reports TASS.

“There are many points of cooperation in our negotiations with the Russian Federation, they include some issues related to the creation of national TF-X combat aircraft,” Demir said. “Since the national TF-X jet will leave the hangar in 2023, there is an engine type of our choice and there are certain systems.”

At the same time, according to the Turkish official, over time, the development will go through a phased process of replacing, updating and localizing a number of systems used. Official Ankara is ready to discuss this part of the work and additional supplies with Moscow. “During this process, negotiations may also take place with the Russian side on specific localization systems. Now we are not talking about such a large number of details, “Demir said.

Also, a Turkish official noted that Turkey's supply of Bayraktar attack drones to Ukraine is not related to tensions in relations between Moscow and Kiev.

“The supplies to Bayraktar are a continuation of a process that began long before this escalation of tensions between Kiev and Moscow, according to the agreements. The unmanned aerial vehicles sent to Ukraine, including drone drones, have no connection with the latest events, ”Demir assured.

Earlier, Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Turkey is thinking about joint development of weapons. In particular, discussions are continuing on the supply of Russian military products. In addition, many countries in the region are showing interest in the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system.
