A large family was deprived of gas for other people's debts

Gas was cut off for a family with five children in St. Petersburg due to a neighbor's debt for other people's debts. Petersburgers lost hot water and the opportunity to cook on the stove due to a common transit pipe with a neighbor, writes “Fontanka”.

The man did not pay for gas for two years and owes utility services 10 thousand rubles – for this the employees of Peterburggaz cut off the fuel supply to his apartment. At the same time, gas also disappeared from a family who regularly paid according to receipts and lived through the wall in another entrance.

The mother of five children outraged the injustice, she turned to a service organization. Gazprom said that during the shutdown they did not know about the peculiarities of the gas pipeline in this house and offered the woman to cover her neighbor's debts on her own. The family considered this a humiliation and were afraid of the repeated repetition of the situation.

After complaints to Peterburggaz, the employees inspected the gas pipeline and made sure that they had turned off the common transit pipe. However, before restoring the supply to the victims, they decided to check the system and found a leak in it. To find out the reason, it was necessary to get into the debtor's apartment – he did not want to let the workers in for a long time. There were no damages on the gas pipeline, and the pipe was refilled with gas. However, against the backdrop of bad relations with a neighbor, the family believes that it will not be long – he will try to avenge them for the noise from the children's games.

In order to avoid being disconnected again for other people's debts, the woman sent a statement to Peterburggaz with a request to organize an independent filing gas. She submitted a copy of the appeal to the prosecutor's office and the guardianship authorities, and also threatened to go to court if there was no response.

However, the public council of housing and communal services under the vice-governor of St. Petersburg noted that the separation procedure would take about two years and will cost the family about 400 thousand rubles. The victims of St. Petersburg do not have such funds.

Earlier, a resident of the city of Bor in the Nizhny Novgorod region was left without heating for other people's debts. Mothers of three children, from the moment of purchasing the apartment, received invoices with debts, which the previous owner did not disclose at the conclusion of the transaction. By the fall of 2021, the amount of debt reached 28 thousand rubles, after which utility workers came and cut off the gas.
