US Energy Secretary Granholm called the release of state oil reserves a short-term strategy in the country. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
According to her, the release of state oil reserves is a temporary strategy, while the long-term strategy remains the transition to clean energy.
” This is a short-term strategy: to ensure that people do not suffer today. A long-term strategy is to ensure that the country does not suffer in the future, to build clean (energy), ”Granholm told reporters.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the release of 50 million barrels of oil from the country's strategic reserve. The decision to use strategic reserves was also made by China, India, Japan, South Korea and the UK.
