RIA Novosti: Russia is increasing its mobilization reserve due to the large number of equipment in the army in its Armed Forces (AF), which requires qualified personnel. This is how the increase in the number of reservists was explained by a RIA Novosti source familiar with the situation.
“Tens of thousands of reservists have not been drafted into the Russian army, this information does not correspond to reality. In addition, reservists, in principle, are not called up anywhere, but are involved in military training on a contract basis, ”the agency's interlocutor said.
According to him, the number of reservists will gradually increase over the coming years. “The main reason for the gradual expansion of the mobilization reserve is the greater level of modernity of the Russian Armed Forces and, accordingly, the increased range and number of new types of weapons and military equipment,” the source noted.
On November 22, Bloomberg, citing sources in the special services reported that in 2022 Russia will attack Ukraine from three sides: from the Crimea peninsula, from the side of the Russian-Ukrainian border and from the territory of Belarus. The United States claims that most of the Russian tactical groups are already in their positions. Their advancement will be supported by air strikes, and the security of their rear services will be ensured by reservists whom Moscow has called on on a “scale unprecedented for the post-Soviet space.”
