Ministry of Internal Affairs: citizens of Armenia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are more likely to blame for road accidents than other foreigners
More than 60 percent of accidents in Russia involving foreigners , occurred through their fault. This is reported by TASS with reference to an overview of road traffic accidents in the country compiled by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
From January to September 2021, in the vast majority of accidents involving foreigners, the culprits were people from Armenia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan … To a lesser extent, citizens of Belarus and Kazakhstan were noticed in accidents.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, only drivers from other states account for about four percent of all accidents in Russia.
The department also noted that the number of traffic violations committed by visitors from the CIS countries increased by 3.6 percent in nine months. This is most noticeable in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Sakhalin regions.
Earlier it was reported that the parliament of the Chechen Republic introduced a bill to the State Duma prohibiting mentioning the criminal's nationality in the media. The authors of the initiative believe that the bill is necessary to preserve interethnic and interfaith harmony in Russia.
