Winamp player will receive a new version 
Winamp player will receive a redesign and a new version. This is reported by the Bleeping Computer edition.
The journalists drew attention to the fact that the Winamp copyright holders updated the site of the legendary player, the logo and opened the acceptance of applications for participation in the beta testing of the new product. The developers do not specify how the new version of the actually resurrected player will position itself and what functions it will receive.
“Something great is happening. We are creating Winamp for the next generation, ”the project's website says. In parallel with the recruitment of enthusiasts for the beta test, Winamp representatives opened vacancies for those wishing to join the product development.
Currently, the player can download Winamp 5.8 for Windows computers for free on the player's website. The timing of the release of the updated version was not disclosed. Project Development Manager Jeremy Scheppers told reporters that they are happy to restart the player.
Winamp is a universal media player for Microsoft Windows computers. The original version of the program was released on June 7, 1997. In early 2014, Belgian internet radio service Radionomy acquired Winamp from AOL Corporation.
