State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet said this, RIA Novosti reports on Saturday, November 20.
“They would like to see Russia weak, but our country's President Vladimir Putin will not allow this,” he said, adding that Washington fears a strong, independent and rapidly developing Russia.
Also, according to the parliamentarian, the draft resolution indicates US interference in the Russian elections.
“The thief is on fire. These are those who constantly stated that Russia somehow interfered in their elections, and by their own resolutions they interfere in the internal affairs of our country, “Sheremet stated.
On November 19, it became known that US Congressmen Steve Cohen and Joe Wilson submitted a resolution to the House of Representatives not to recognize the 2024 presidential elections in Russia if Putin participates in them. At the same time, it was noted that if this document is adopted, it will be of a recommendatory nature.
