Russian Embassy: The United States should influence Kiev to implement the Minsk Agreements
The Russian Embassy in the United States advised Washington to influence Ukraine in order for Kiev to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk Agreements. This is stated in the statement of the diplomatic mission, published on Facebook.
The embassy noted the words of the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki about stepping up efforts to resolve the conflict in Donbass. Russian diplomats also stressed that the United States should pay attention to the sound advice of local political scientists who suggest Washington to influence Kiev so that the country's strategic partner stops sabotaging the Minsk agreements.
Earlier, Psaki said that the United States supports the statements President of Russia Vladimir Putin, which he made during an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MFA). In particular, Washington agrees with the words of the Russian leader that the two countries need to maintain a dialogue in order to resolve the many existing differences. Psaki also stressed that the White House welcomes the Russian leader's statement on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass through the Minsk agreements.
On November 18, Vladimir Putin took part in an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Russian Foreign Ministry. In his speech, he called the situation in Ukraine a dead end and remembered about lethal weapons, and also accused Western partners of unreliability and reproached for an easy rejection of any previous agreements. However, the Russian leader noted that the latest warnings from Russia “make themselves felt” and keep the West in a certain amount of tension.
