In Russia, it was proposed to make travel in public transport free for children

The State Duma is discussing free travel on public transport for children from 7 to 16 years old

children from 7 to 16 years old, now the bill is under development. RIA Novosti was informed about this by the head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Nina Ostanina.

According to the law, only children under seven years of age can use transport free of charge, and teenagers who have not paid for travel must not be disembarked from transport … The family committee was the co-executor of the new project. Ostanina explained that the draft law had already been discussed in the current version, and it received a negative opinion from the Cabinet.

“We do not want to lose this law, therefore, we will propose amendments to the budget of the next year, already in 2023. We will ask the regions about expenditures, because in terms of these statistics, unfortunately, the law has not been worked out. If you make, then do it fully. And our committee wants to initiate the development of a new bill with the same idea, with the same name, but taking into account legal work with the regions, ”said Ostanina.

The deputy is sure that the bill will find a response. “Today, the subjects independently solve these problems – somewhere orders, somewhere social cards, that is, whoever can. And we will summarize the materials, present to the government and try to convince that this money should be allocated from the federal budget, “she concluded.

Previously, Russia discussed the transition to free public transport by 2035, but the Ministry of Transport refused this ideas. There is too much to do before this initiative can be taken seriously, according to a ministry spokesman.
