Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine: The Verkhovna Rada should be ready for the introduction of a state of emergency due to the migration crisis (State of emergency) in the border regions of Ukraine due to the situation with migrants. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic Denis Monastyrsky said this during a speech in the Ukrainian parliament, Vesti.ua reports. time stressed that there is no need to introduce such measures so far.
At the same time, Monastyrsky noted that in the future, Russia may try to use the current situation with illegal migrants to inflict “maximum reputational damage” to the European Union (EU) and Ukraine .
“So we do not rule out that there is a possibility that Russia will decide to purposefully pass a large number of illegal migrants through Belarus to our territory,” the head of the department added.
Earlier Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnik said that Kiev will send 8,500 police officers to the northern border of the republic due to fears that refugees from the Belarusian-Polish border may move there. In addition, he admitted that a state of emergency may be introduced in the country.
