HSE: the share of Russians complaining about financial difficulties has grown to 70%
Two-thirds (70 percent) of Russians complain about financial difficulties this is how people aged 51-65 and villagers answer the question. This is evidenced by the data of a survey by the Center for Civil Society and Commercial Sector Research at the Higher School of Economics, writes RBC.
Over the past year, the situation has slightly worsened – in 2020, 66 percent of survey participants spoke of a difficult financial situation. In the latest survey, 29 percent said it was possible to easily or very easily meet basic needs with a family's monthly income.
At the same time, the share of citizens who hope for an improvement in their personal situation has grown from 10 percent a year ago to 24 percent … Almost as many hoped for a change for the better in the pre-pandemic 2019. A worsening of the situation is expected by 21 percent of respondents, and 44 percent are sure that nothing will change in their life in terms of material security.
Vice-Rector of the Financial University under the Russian government, Alexander Safonov, suggested that optimism is associated with adaptation to the conditions of a pandemic, a deficit staff and outflow of migrants, which gave employment opportunities.
Previously, almost the same figures were obtained in a joint study by SberNPF and Rambler & Co – more than two-thirds of Russians (69 percent) were dissatisfied with their income. Only 16 percent have no complaints about their income.
