Insurance company “Consent”: emblems, mirrors and wheels are most often stolen from cars 
Insurance company “Consent” named the details that most often they steal from cars. According to experts, in 2021 these are Mercedes-Benz emblems, mirrors and wheels, RIA Novosti reports.
More than a quarter of cases of thefts (26 percent) accounted for this brand, every tenth attacker removed the emblem from the car. One third of thefts were mirrors, 12 percent – wheels. They also steal antennas, headlights, DVRs, emergency brake sensors, door handles, wipers, rear-view cameras and other parts and objects.
“In some cases, illegal actions of third parties are damage during the theft of objects in car. For example, thieves inflicted damage on vehicles when they took other people's laptops, money, bags or backpacks from there, “the experts said.
The largest sums insured were received by clients from Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Sverdlovsk region. So, in the capital, the owner of the Porsche Cayenne was paid 435 thousand rubles after the theft of headlights.
In Yekaterinburg, the motorist was compensated 400.4 thousand rubles for the wheels removed from the Nissan X-Trail, and in the Losinoostrovsky district of Moscow for the stolen Lexus NX mirrors insurance amounted to 200.7 thousand rubles.
Earlier, automobile expert Yegor Vasiliev said that Russians should not independently improve the characteristics of a vehicle. Without the help of specialists, it is better to carry out only regular operations provided by the car manufacturer.
