The Ministry of Education and Science assessed the likelihood of transition of universities to distance learning

Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Falkov: Russian universities are not threatened with a full transition to distance learning as soon as the epidemiological situation allows. There is no threat of a full transition to distance learning for higher education institutions. So the likelihood of switching to telecommuting was assessed by the head of the ministry, Valery Falkov, reports TASS.

“Now the opposite reaction will happen – as soon as sanitary restrictions allow us, we will completely return to universities,” Falkov said.

The Minister noted that teachers quickly adapted to the new conditions and switched to a digital environment. However, modern technologies cannot replace human communication, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science concluded.

Earlier it was reported that the department allowed universities to conduct intermediate certification of students in a distance format. It is clarified that at this time, students must be provided with methodological support and warn in advance about the amount of work.

Mandatory vaccination against coronavirus for students over 18 years old has been introduced in 16 regions of Russia. In another five regions, the vaccine will be required for students who will be doing internships outside of an educational institution.
