EUobserver: The EU plans to carry out 1.4 thousand arrests of migrant carriers in 2022
The European Union (EU) plans to carry out a number of operations aimed at combating the transportation of illegal migrants, which involves more than 1.4 thousand arrests. This was reported by the Brussels internet edition EUobserver.
The internal document of the European Union contains 59 pages and is dated November 13. He reports on 30 plans that have been prepared, which will be implemented by the individual member states of the political grouping and competent authorities, for example, the EU border control agency Frontex and the European Police Agency (Europol).
Frontex will lead eight operations in the Balkans. will conduct border checks and deal with documentary fraudulent intelligence gathering at external borders. It is planned to arrest about 1000 people and detain 50 more suspected of complicity in illegal migration.
Europol will cooperate with the countries of the Balkan region, China, Turkey and Russia. Individual states, such as Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Great Britain, will conduct separate operations with the support of the allies. Poland will work to curb smuggling from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Austria and Germany will pay attention to the Western Balkans.
Earlier, the press secretary of the European Commission (EC) Peter Stano said that the European Union (EU) is not intends to negotiate with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the situation with migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border and their further fate.
