The economist appreciated the increase in the minimum wage and the living wage

The economist Kulbak said that the minimum wage and the living wage in Russia have not been raised enough

Nikolay V. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, an increase in the living wage and the minimum wage (minimum wage), however, noted that the state could allocate a large amount for these purposes.

On the eve of November 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed in 2022, to index the cost of living and the minimum wage “at a faster pace than inflation” – by 8.6%, according to the website of the presidential administration. Based on his proposals, the living wage in Russia next year should increase by 1,000 rubles – up to 12,654 rubles a month, and the minimum wage will increase by about 1,100 rubles – up to 13,890 rubles a month. The state will allocate 30 billion rubles for these purposes, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov told Interfax.

“The minimum level of wages in our country is rather miserable, so any increase is, of course, good, but it should be increased more significant, and the state has reserves for this, ”Kulbaka emphasized. According to the economist, 30 billion rubles is not a very large amount within the budget of the country, and the state, allocating this money, does not lose much, since along with the increase in the minimum wage, some tax deductions that depend on it also grow.
