Roskachestvo investigated 113 brands of light beer and named the 23 best representing 60 percent of the total product on the Russian market, and named the best. The results of the examination are published on the website of the organization.
Samples were purchased at retail outlets and checked for 429 quality indicators. For the assessment, we took beer produced in Russia (94 samples), Belarus, Belgium, Great Britain, China, Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic.
23 varieties received the highest rating of five points in all parameters, among them there are both Russian and imported brands, costing from 8.86 rubles per 100 milliliters (Green Beer) to 31.98 rubles (Leffe Blonde).
A sixth of the goods were made in violation of the law. In 12 brands, an unreliable marking was revealed in terms of the extract of the initial wort or the volume fraction of alcohol, nine samples were withdrawn from the organoleptic examination due to unsatisfactory indicators of “foam” or “head retention”. Rosalkogolregulirovanie reacted to the study – it recognized its materials and began an administrative check.
The organization noticed that beer produced in Russia is cheaper, but in terms of quality it is almost not inferior to imported one. For comparison, several pairs of goods of the same brands were purchased, the experts did not find any significant differences.
Earlier, the Union of Russian Brewers (PSA) proposed to raise duties on import of foreign beer 55 times compared to the current ones.
