Rosselkhozbank: green mortgage can raise up to 2 trillion rubles in 2023
In 2023 green mortgage – loans for the purchase of apartments meeting the criteria for environmentally friendly housing can attract up to 2 trillion rubles to the housing construction sector in Russia in the budget and medium segment. Prospects for a new type of mortgage were named in a study by Rosselkhozbank, Izvestia reports.
According to experts, at the moment it is difficult to assess the potential demand for green mortgages due to the lack of standards. Analysts have suggested that by the end of 2022, the demand for premium energy-efficient housing could reach more than 400 billion rubles. The leaders in this segment will be Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory, Tyumen, Rostov and Novosibirsk regions, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan and Bashkiria.
The Rosselkhozbank noted that most often commercial real estate receives green certificates, while residential development has a small share of such certification. Most of these buildings are located in Moscow and St. mortgage, noting the need to determine the characteristics of such apartments. Loans for environmentally friendly housing were offered to citizens on preferential terms.
