A car with refugees was stopped in the village of Mileychice, located near the border with Belarus. One of the foreigners was hiding in the trunk of a car, and the other was hiding under a pile of clothes in the cabin.
Earlier, the European Union decided to conduct a number of operations in 2022 aimed at combating the transportation of illegal migrants. It is planned to arrest about a thousand people and detain 50 more suspects of aiding illegal migration.
The migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the European Union began at the end of May. Large groups of illegal migrants from Africa and the Middle East began to storm the borders of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia in the hope of obtaining asylum.
