Klimov called the resolution on non-recognition of elections in Russia a PR

Senator Klimov on the resolution of the US congressmen: this is a PR before the summit for democracy to recognize the president of Russia, is an attempt by American parliamentarians to promote themselves before the summit for democracy. Such an assessment was given by the head of the interim commission of the Federation Council for the protection of state sovereignty and prevention of interference in the internal affairs of Russia, Andrei Klimov, reports TASS.

He suggested that the American senators should be noted for something. “Apparently, they decided to mark this story by discussing the draft resolution in Congress,” concluded Klimov.

Earlier, the draft resolution was assessed by the vice-speaker of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev. He called it a provocation aimed at disrupting relations between Russia and the United States, which began to normalize.

The proposal not to recognize Putin as president of Russia if he decides to run in 2024 was submitted to the US House of Representatives by Steve Cohen and Joe Whislon. If this document is accepted, it will be advisory in nature.
