An American businessman Kurt Rossans was arrested. He was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months without the right to post bail.
Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky reported that Washington would help Kiev in the investigation of the attempted murder of Roman Leshchenko. He also recalled that the American, along with a Ukrainian citizen, was charged with kidnapping, extortion and grievous bodily harm.
On November 18, it became known that the Ukrainian security forces had managed to prevent an attempt on Leshchenko's life. The head of the agrarian department learned about the plans of the criminals shortly before the briefing, and during the press conference he almost burst into tears.
