In Russia, the rules for calculating child benefits will change

Izvestia: The Ministry of Labor intends to change the criteria for assessing the need for benefits for children and for pregnant women. The corresponding draft government decree is being prepared by the Ministry of Labor, it intends to change the criteria for assessing the need for recipients of payments, Izvestia reports.

It is expected that the document will be signed before the end of this year and will come into force next year. Thus, regional authorities will be able to independently assign benefits for children from three to seven years old at the place of residence, even without registration. This will be spelled out in the legislation of the subjects.

In addition, fundamental innovations will affect the assessment of income. Families whose income for each member does not exceed the regional subsistence minimum can apply for state support.

So, according to the new rules, regional and municipal subsidies for the purchase of real estate, cars or motor vehicles, tax deductions, grants, subsidies and other payments that have a specific purpose to support entrepreneurship.

In addition, when determining the financial situation of a family, vehicles that are wanted or under arrest, or seized real estate, as well as those purchased with targeted subsidies, will not be taken into account land plots, housing, transport, garages and parking spaces.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to increase the living wage by 8.6 percent in 2022. According to Putin's proposal, the cost of living will rise to 12,654 rubles. The President noted that the indexation of the living wage in the budget by 2.5 percent is not enough due to the current level of inflation, which has accelerated in recent months. Putin also ordered to raise the minimum wage (minimum wage) by 8.6 percent – up to 13,890 rubles.
