Verkhovna Rada deputy Ilya Kiva handed over two award pistols
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Opposition Platform – For Life (OPZH) party Kiva handed over the award weapon given to him in 2015. This was reported in the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
The deputy, against whom a criminal case was previously opened for shooting from a machine gun, handed over to law enforcement officers two pistols, Glock-19 and APS, as well as permits for their storage.
On November 16, Ilya Kivu was deprived of the right to award weapons. According to Denis Monastyrsky, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who signed the corresponding decree, this decision was made in view of the “unworthy behavior” of the parliamentarian.
Prior to that, two criminal cases were opened against the deputy. One of them concerned the shooting from automatic firearms at the portrait of the ideologue of Ukrainian nationalism Stepan Bandera. Another case was opened after Kiva recorded a video message in which he congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his birthday.
