Ukraine asked the EU to help in the arrangement of the border with Belarus

President Zelensky discussed the situation on the Belarusian border with the Head of the European Commission von der Leyen during a telephone conversation with the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen. This was reported by the press service of the head of the republic.

As part of the negotiations, Zelensky and von der Leyen came to the conclusion that the current situation on the Belarusian border is a hybrid attack, and discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union (EU ) in the migration sphere.

The President informed the head of the European Commission about the measures that Kiev is taking to strengthen security on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, and also asked the EU for help to equip it.

November 10 Ukrainian Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky said that the republic has begun to prepare for the migration crisis on the border with Belarus. He promised that the number of border guards will be doubled, and the reserves of the National Guard and the National Police will also be involved in border guarding.
