Infectionist Malyshev said that 500 Bau antibodies/ml is enough to protect against coronavirus antibodies that are sufficient to protect against new coronavirus infection. RIA Novosti writes about this on Thursday, November 18.
According to the specialist, this figure should reach 500 Bau/ml. Malyshev noted that only those vaccinated against COVID-19 can have such an antibody titer, since this figure is usually lower. The infectious disease specialist added that the question of how many antibodies will be sufficient for protection is still a matter of debate.
On November 17, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that the Russian authorities are discussing the possibility of issuing QR codes to citizens which have a sufficient level of antibodies to COVID-19. Later, the Telegram channel “Earlier than all. Well, almost ”, citing a source on the site under the Cabinet of Ministers, said that the government will most likely make it necessary to obtain a QR code an antibody level of 350-500 Bau/ml. No official confirmation of this information has yet been received.
Chief Researcher at the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamalei Anatoly Altstein was skeptical about the idea of issuing QR codes to Russians by the level of antibodies to coronavirus. He believes that such a measure will provoke an increase in fraud.
