Tvil.ru: Russians have booked accommodation for the New Year in Veliky Ustyug, Moscow and Karelia

Russians wanted to spend New Year's holidays in Veliky Ustyug , Moscow and Karelian Lakhdenpohja. The general demand for apartments, hotels and houses during the January holidays in these three cities was recorded by the Tvil.ru vacation rental service.

Service analysts noted that the greatest excitement for New Year's holidays is observed in Veliky Ustyug – demand housing costs in the homeland of Santa Claus increased by 800 percent compared to last year. The second place was taken by the capital of Russia, Moscow, with a growth rate of 525 percent. Karelia became the third record holder in terms of the number of bookings – in total, Lahdenpohja, Olonets and Sortavala received 500 percent more applications for accommodation than in 2020.

It is noted that Krasnaya Polyana, which became the most popular destination last year holidays for the New Year holidays, 70 percent fewer tourists travel in 2021. The Russians wanted to meet the upcoming 2022 in Alushta, Pyatigorsk, and Kaliningrad. Gelendzhik, Ostashkov and Nizhniy Novgorod were also included in the rating of “hot” destinations.

Tvil.ru specialists studied the data of tourist reservations for vacation rentals from December 25, 2021 to January 10, 2022 and identified the most popular places by comparing with last year's information.

Earlier in November, Russians were named the most popular destinations within the country for weekend trips in December. So, Tomsk took the first place in popularity, Krasnodar came in second place, and Zheleznovodsk came in third.
