Rashkin: Prosecutor General's submission provides for incomplete lifting of immunity
Prosecutor General's submission provides for partial lifting of parliamentary immunity. This was stated by Valery Rashkin, who is suspected of illegal hunting, in a conversation with Interfax.
According to the document, the complete lifting of immunity is envisaged when the case is brought to court. This gives the right to conduct interrogations and searches in the case of elk hunting, Rashkin specified.
Earlier, State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin confessed to killing an elk, the carcass of which was found by law enforcement officers in his car at the end of October. He recorded a video message in which he described the circumstances of the night on October 29.
The deputy arrived in the Saratov region to rest after the elections. He noted that he was misinformed, saying that there is a permit to shoot ungulates. That is why Rashkin went hunting. The parliamentarian is sure that this was used by unknown people who participated in the “provocation against him.”
