Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki offered to finance migrants' flights home
Warsaw offered to pay for the return of migrants who had accumulated on the Polish-Belarusian border. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, RIA Novosti reports.
The politician stressed the need to bring through a solidary and decisive policy the defense of the borders of Poland and other EU countries until the illegal immigrants return home. “We can help them in this, we can help them in financing flights from Belarus, from Minsk, to Baghdad, Istanbul or other cities,” he said.
Earlier, Moravetsky said that Poland opposes the creation of a humanitarian corridor for Iraqi refugees who have accumulated on the border with Belarus. The head of the Polish government rejected the proposal of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, which he made in an interview with the interim German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She also refused the Belarusian leader.
Since the beginning of November, the migration crisis continues on the Polish-Belarusian border. Thousands of refugees from the countries of the Middle East approached the barriers at the border and tried to penetrate the territory of Poland and other European countries. The Polish security forces had to use additional forces to contain their pressure. The European Union accused the official Minsk of aggravating the situation with migrants.
