Iraqi Ministry of Transport: a plane with migrants that took off from Minsk landed in Iraqi Kurdistan
A plane with migrants who took off from Erbil airport in Iraqi Kurdistan. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Iraqi Ministry of Transport.
It is noted that after stopping in Erbil, the Iraqi Airways aircraft will leave for Baghdad. According to the Consul of Iraq in Russia and Belarus, Majid Al-Kinani, quoted by the agency, a total of 431 people registered for the flight. At the same time, about 90 percent of passengers are residents of Iraqi Kurdistan.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki offered to pay for the return of migrants from the Polish-Belarusian border to their homeland. The politician stressed the need to bring the defense of the borders of Poland and other EU countries through a solidary and decisive policy until the illegal immigrants return home.
Since the beginning of November, the migration crisis continues on the Polish-Belarusian border. Thousands of migrants from Iraq and other countries in the Middle East gathered in the border area and tried to break into Poland. The Polish security forces had to use additional forces to contain their pressure. The European Union accused the official Minsk of aggravating the situation with migrants.
