Former Russian national team player Shatov terminated his contract with Rubin and suspended his career
Midfielder Oleg Shatov and Rubin terminated their contract by agreement of the parties. This was reported on the website of the Kazan club.
The former midfielder of the Russian national team announced a career suspension at the age of 31. He noted that the decision was influenced by a large number of recent injuries. “I realized that I’d better come out, I’ll look at myself from the outside: where I’m moving, what I want, why I’m doing it,” Shatov said.
At the same time, the player added that he took a pause for two months – before the beginning of preparations for the second part of the season. In the coming winter, the footballer promised to make an attempt to return to football.
The athlete moved to Rubin in July 2020. He played 25 matches for the team, in which he scored one goal and made three assists. He also has two goals in 28 matches for the Russian national team.
