For the first time in history, a stray dog was fitted with prostheses on all four legs

In Novosibirsk, for the first time in history, a stray dog was fitted with prostheses on all four legs on all four paws. Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes about this.

According to Sergei Gorshkov, a veterinarian at the BEST clinic in Novosibirsk, the operation was successful, although the case was difficult. A dog named Monica was in critical condition after the street. Tomography showed that her bones were severely deformed.

Monica was found in December 2020 in the village of Plastunovskaya, Krasnodar Territory. She was discovered by a local resident. She called local animal rights activist Marina Gapich and said that “the helpless mongrel has been lying on the cold ground for two weeks and refuses to eat.” Doctors fought for her life for more than ten days before the dog was taken to Novosibirsk to see Gorshkov.

“Monica has already started to walk on her own and will soon return to normal life,” he noted.

Earlier in the Primorsky Territory, a local resident saved an emaciated dachshund with torn ears, which was running along the highway. The dog burst into tears when the man took her home.
