The court sent the former head of the agricultural department of Sevastopol Kirpichnikov to house arrest
and the consumer market in a criminal case brought against him. Olga Postnova, a representative of the Crimean Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR), told Lente.ru about this.
According to her, the investigators brought charges against the ex-official under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Excessive powers”). During the interrogation, the ex-head of the agricultural department pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
Vadim Kirpichnikov is the defendant in the case, Interfax specifies. According to the ICR, in 2020 the accused entered into agreements with local businessmen for the installation of retail outlets on the Mys Khrustalny beach and the Kornilov embankment. Their competitors were ready to pay a higher price, but since the auction was not held, the city budget did not receive more than one million rubles.
The press service of the Sevastopol government said that the contract with Kirpichnikov on civil service was not extended until the situation was clarified with criminal prosecution.
