Windows 10 will be updated less often

Microsoft will update Windows 10 once a year

Microsoft will move to a new update schedule for Windows 10. This is reported on the company's website.

Representatives of the company announced the release of the November service pack for the popular operating system. In a message from Microsoft, it is said that the company is moving to a new schedule for the release of updates for Windows 10. Thus, the engineers promised to provide annual updates for the OS.

The material does not directly indicate that updates will be released less frequently, but the company noted that the next update containing new features will appear in the second half of 2022. Thus, an outdated operating system can be updated once a year. “We will continue to support at least one version of Windows 10 until October 14, 2025,” Microsoft promised.

The statement also states that Windows 10 version 2004 will end of service on December 14, 2021. All copies of Windows 10 Enterprise and Education, version 1909 will no longer be supported on May 10, 2022.

In late October, Microsoft announced that each Windows update will have an expiration date. Older operating systems that are no longer up to date will continue to receive all security updates once a month.
