Loftus.

The FDA-approved device consists of VR headsets, controller and special sensors that are used for breathing exercises. The treatment program is based on deep relaxation and attention-shifting, and consists of 56 home virtual reality sessions ranging from 2 to 16 minutes.

The FDA conducted a randomized trial involving 179 participants who complained of chronic low back pain. The program lasted eight weeks, in general, doctors monitored patients for 8.5 months. 66 percent of the participants reported about 30 percent reduction in pain. Serious adverse events were not observed.
