RBC: due to the pandemic, Russian schoolchildren are more pessimistic about the future
Teachers assessed the impact of quarantine restrictions on the state and career plans of Russian schoolchildren. In their opinion, students now value live communication more. 23 percent of respondents believe that children have become more pessimistic about the future, RBC reports.
The Foundation for Humanitarian Projects and regional operators of the Ticket to the Future project interviewed teachers about the state of schoolchildren after the onset of the pandemic. 11 percent of educators noted that distance learning contributed to the separation of children. 23 percent do not believe that the pandemic is affecting them in any way.
The increased pessimism of children about their careers was noticed by 23 percent of teachers. However, 21 percent believe that students, on the contrary, have become more responsible and conscious about their choice of a future profession.
Almost half of teachers said that schoolchildren are now more interested in IT. Others noted that due to the situation with the coronavirus, children are more likely to think about a career in medicine or pharmacology. The poll took place in November 2021, about six thousand teachers from 85 regions of Russia took part in it.
Earlier, changes in school education were announced in Russia. During a strategic session on the development of education in the Far East, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, said that two circles will be created in each school until 2024. In addition, he announced changes in education: according to him, the authorities are striving to unify textbooks in the country. “We even faced a pandemic that everyone actually has their own schedule. The quality of education largely depends on how unified the educational space will be, so we will strive to unify textbooks, ”the minister emphasized.
